Sterling Sky analysed 179 Google Business Profiles across 34 law firms in the US and found a clear trend: Click-to-call actions from GBP have been declining over the past two years. This decline is specific to mobile, where phone icons are displayed as the primary action.

Website clicks from GBP remain stable. The shift is caused by Google removing call buttons in many industries and replacing them with images or AI-powered local packs.
